About Me
Welcome! I'm Anya, a dedicated nutritionist and certified lactation counselor with over a decade of experience supporting families in their journey with food. I provide specialized nutrition counseling for children aged 0-5, helping families establish healthy eating habits from an early age. My passion for nutrition was ignited during my travels in Greece, where I discovered the transformative power of food as medicine, shifting my perspective from viewing food as something to be demonized or as a source of guilt, to something that made my body feel powerful, strong and nourished.
In my nutrition career, I have had the privilege of working with parents to help them navigate challenges ranging from picky eating and meal planning to supporting nutrition during toilet training and introduction to solids. I focus on providing personalized, one-on-one support to families to achieve their nutrition goals. Additionally, I offer workshops in group settings within the community to share valuable insights and strategies on these important topics. My aim is to empower families with the knowledge and tools they need for healthier eating habits and for parents to feel confident when it comes to feeding their child.

After graduating from The University of VT with my degree in nutrition, I worked as a public health nutritionist for the health department. My joy of working with pregnant women and young children developed there, but I knew I needed more time with clients to build relationships. I moved into a role with a local non-profit as a home visiting nutritionist, where I provided parents with nutrition counseling, built lasting relationships and was able to motivate long lasting behavioral changes around nutrition. Through both these experiences, I have worked with parents from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, providing me with a wealth of perspectives and experiences.

When I'm not working with families on their nutrition goals, you can find me at my home in Vermont, usually running on a back dirt road with my 10 year old dog. I love to be outside, year round, with my husband and two young children, absorbing all the beauty that Vermont has to offer. I also enjoy coaching my son's basketball team, teaching my children how to ski and of course, cooking and baking on cold winter days.
